BIAS SoundSoap 2 – New!
Win/Mac CD-ROM
Easily and Instantly Removes Noises From Digital Audio and Video Files

Overview
SoundSoap is the first pro-quality noise reduction solution that’s also easy enough for average consumers to use effectively. With just a few simple controls, anyone can remove unwanted hiss, room noise, rumble, electrical hum, and other background noise from almost any digital media file – including digital video (DV), digital audio workstation tracks, analog cassette/tape recordings, vinyl LP recordings, and more.
It could be the old LPs and cassettes you’ve been archiving to put in your iPod – that almost perfect wedding video with the annoying background noise – or the noisy guitar tracks you recorded last weekend. SoundSoap 2 cleans up clicks, crackles, and turntable motor rumble in recordings of scratched up old LPs, as well as the electrical hum or buzz from a guitar amp picked up in a recording session. Broadband noise – like air conditioning systems picked up by a DV camera’s microphone or the hiss from analog audio and video cassettes – doesn’t stand a chance.
Includes both versions: stand-alone and plug-in (AU/VST/RTAS - for use in popular host applications such as BIAS Peak®, Apple iMovie®, Apple Logic®, Adobe Premiere Elements®, GarageBand®, Pro Tools® and many more!)
From our partners at BIAS.
Features
Remove Click & Crackle Slider Buffs out scratches, and restores your vinyl LP collection quickly and easily. With a single slider, SoundSoap 2 removes pops, clicks and crackles without affecting the audio you want to keep! |
Noise Tuner Knob Find the hiss and other background noise you want to remove by simply turning a dial! The Learn Noise button (in the center of the screen) automatically sets this control for you – or if you like, you can grab it and adjust it manually. |
Wash Window SoundSoap’s unique Wash Window lets you listen – and watch – while it goes to work. The left side of the display shows the unprocessed signal, while the right side shows it after it’s been cleaned. (blue = desired audio signal; red = noise). |
Noise Reduction Knob The amount of roise reduction being applied can be adjusted manually with the Noise Reduction knob (or automatically by clicking Learn Noise). A low setting is good for subtle noise; for bigger problems, just crank it up and listen to the noise evaporate. |
Enhance Audio Slider After you’ve cleaned your audio, leave a super fine polish with SoundSoap’s unique Enhance Slider. This intelligent dynamic control brings back any missing frequencies and leaves your finished audio sparkling clean. |
Preserve Voice Button Helps reduce noise (and other audio) outside of the range of the human voice and makes cleaning up dialogue tracks incredibly easy! |
Braodband Noise Reduction Switch These controls allow toggling Broadband noise reduction between Off, On and Noise Only modes. Noise Only lets you hear what’s being removed with the current settings so you don’t remove the signal you’re trying to restore! |
Learn Noise Button The "Key" to SoundSoap’s one-click audio restoration! Just click Learn Noise and in seconds, SoundSoap automatically profiles broadband noise in your signal and adjusts the Noise Tuner and Noise Reduction knobs to their ideal settings. |
Remove Hum Switch SoundSoap removes hum (typically introduced by electrical grounding issues) with just one click. Choose 60 HZ (for regions with ~120 VAC electricity) or 50 HZ (for regions with ~220 VAC electricity). |
Remove Rumble Button With one button, SoundSoap virtually eliminates low frequency noise, or “rumble” including turntable motor noise, an idling truck captured in a recording or any similar noise below 40 HZ. |
Transport Controls Start/Pause/Stop Playback. View the location on a slider or counter. These additional controls are found in the stand-alone edition of SoundSoap and are used to start and stop playback, navigate media files and apply noise reduction settings. |
SoundSoap 2 is developed by BIAS and distributed in North America by eMedia Music. |

"SoundSoap 2 is an inexpensive and easy-to-use noise reduction utility that has more power than one might expect. It is designed to accomplish a range of the most common clean-up and restoration tasks in audio and video files. The control interface is fairly intuitive and the noise reduction algorithms are effective."
– Richard Zvonar, audiomidi.com
""I was quite pleased with the results that SoundSoap produced. After only a few minutes of tweaking, almost all of the noise that was affecting my files was gone once I ran the file through SoundSoap."
– Greg Healy, MacApper
"BIAS has made something of a name for itself in the audio restoration market, producing quality software to remove the toughest of hisses and hums from any audio source. The first incarnation of the company's SoundSoap application brought low-budget, sound-refining and noise-removal tools to the masses, so the release of version 2 will be eagerly anticipated by anyone looking to restore archived vinyl or cassette collections or simply clean up a poor recording."
