Position Available: Graphic Design/Layout Artist (Music Education Focus)
eMedia Music creates and distributes multimedia software lessons for learning piano, guitar, and other instruments as well as instrument bundles, DVDs, and more. We have a part-time opening in our team for a musically-oriented graphic design/layout artist. Work varies from new conceptual mockups guided by Art and Creative Directors to slight modifications on previously released artwork.
Requirements:
- Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite 2 on Mac platform
- Experienced with layout for print
- Excellent organizational skills
- Positive, team player with great communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and respond to every request
- Strong connection with our target customers (e.g., you are a musician who values music education)
Our ideal candidate is a valuable team player who presents fresh ideas, works creatively with limited resources, and carefully follows through when presented with instructions. If all of the above qualifications are met, special consideration will be given to candidates with skills in HTML and CSS, Flash animation, and foreign languages (namely French, German, Spanish). Exceptional candidates who are hired may be considered for a future transition to full time employee status with benefits.

Contract Position Available: English-to-Spanish Translation, Music Knowledge Required
eMedia Music, a Seattle-based educational software company located near UW is looking to translate lesson material into Spanish. We teach beginner-to-intermediate piano, guitar, and violin using multimedia presentations synchronized with music.
This contract work involves proofing of previously translated material and translating new text—working from text in an Excel spreadsheet. The project requires a native Spanish speaker with knowledge of musical terminology (e.g. – parts of instruments, music notation, etc). Knowledge of computer terminology for translation of alerts, error messages, and special screens is a plus. You will be working on site in our Seattle office.
